Counting of votes for a new assembly in Gujarat got underway today, with early trends pointing to a sweeping victory for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that has not lost an election in the state since 1995. The saffron party is ahead in 141 seats while Congress is ahead in 29 seats. After second round of counting, on majority of south Gujarat seats AAP is getting 10 to 15 percent of total votes counted.
