Thika Superhighway And Waiyaki Way are not for The Faint of Heart. I took a trip on two of my least favourite roads in Nairobi, via Waiyaki way to Thika superhighway to see if anything has changed on the highway.
I can confirm that everything stays the same if not worse for cyclists, there are sections being retarmacked, not for bicycles but for cars. I didn't realise the highway needed retarmacking? Who is this contractor leaving loose gravel all over and not caring to redo the cycling lanes? The cycling lanes have needed this love for a long time, they are uneven, lack continuity and are broken.
The motorists were not overly aggressive and pushy as I feel they used to be.
