Cara Delevingne was born in London, England, to Pandora Anne (Stevens) and Charles Hamar Delevingne, a property developer. Her parents are both from prominent upper-class families, with her ancestors including Viscounts (Greenwood), Baronets (Hulton, Faudel-Phillips), Majors and Lord Mayors of London.

Delevigne is a fashion model, and the face of Burberry's Beauty campaign. She was previously the face of Burberry's spring/summer 2012 campaign and spring/summer 2011 campaign. She has been featured in advertising campaigns for other brands including H&M, Zara and Chanel. She also appeared on the catwalk for brands such as Moschino, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Stella McCartney. Delevigne was on the covers of Vogue UK, Vogue Korea, i-D, Love, Russh, Jalouse and Style.com's Spring 2013 issue. She also walked down the catwalk as a model at the 2012 Victoria's Secret fashion show.

Delevigne is ranked #17 on models.com's 50 Top Models (2013). She also won Model Of The Year 2012 at the British Fashion Awards.
She attended Francis Holland School for Girls in central London, until she was 16,[13] before moving to Bedales School in Hampshire. She has dyspraxia and consequently found school challenging. In June 2015, in an interview with Vogue, Delevingne opened up in regards to the peak of her battle with depression when she was 15 years old. She said, "I was hit with a massive wave of depression and anxiety and self-hatred, where the feelings were so painful that I would slam my head against a tree to try to knock myself out."[16] At age 16, after completing her GCSE examinations she moved to Bedales School in Hampshire, to focus on drama and music. After one year she dropped out and followed the career path of her sister, Poppy, into modeling.
The Chanel autumn/winter 2012 Show featured the likes of Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry and her sister Poppy Delevingne sitting in the front row.[13] This was the beginning of what would turn out to be a long lasting professional relationship between Delevingne and the Head Designer and Creative Director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld. In an interview with Elle after the show he said, "Cara is different. She's full of life, full of pep. I like girls to be wild but at the same time beautifully brought up and very funny."

“I bet anyone that has a T-shirt on, I can find their nipple right away,” said the actress, who portrays Enchantress in the DC Comics-inspired film. “I have like a nipple detector in my mind.” Delevingne went on to show off her special ability by finding and pinching the nipples of her costars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Karen Fukuhara (Katana), not to mention the reporter.
The comment came during an interview with Kristien Morato of the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, who had previously talked to Margot Robbie and her Tarzan costar Alexander Skarsgård about his third nipple.
