Omicron ‘completely dominating’ Queensland

Описание: Chief Health Officer John Gerrard says Queensland is experiencing an “Omicron pandemic” where the variant is “completely dominating”.

“Over the last few days, the proportion of Omicron is increasing, we’re not sitting at around about 90 per cent – it’s completely dominating all other viruses here in Queensland,” he said on Monday.

“The main reason why we’re not seeing huge numbers of intensive care admissions, the main reason, is because of our high vaccination rate.”

Queensland recorded 9,581 new infections of COVID-19 on Monday.
