1.4a Tumbling Name Animation – Intro to 3D Space

Описание: In this introductory lesson, students open Autodesk 3ds Max for the first time and begin working in 3D space by creating individual 3D letters from their name. Each letter is modeled as its own object so it can later be animated independently to fall, rotate, tumble, or bounce.

This activity is designed to help students feel comfortable navigating the workspace, moving objects in 3D space, and understanding how objects gain volume and position—without getting overwhelmed by the full interface.

🎯 Lesson Target
I will demonstrate my understanding of basic 3D space by creating and positioning individual 3D text objects in Autodesk 3ds Max.

I know I got it when my name exists as separate 3D letters that are positioned and ready to be animated.

📝 Instructions
Open Autodesk 3ds Max
Create separate 3D text objects for each letter of your first name
Use the Move, Rotate, and View controls to position the letters in 3D space
Switch to the Modify panel to extrude the letters and give them volume
Rotate and raise the letters so they are ready to fall or move
Save your file before moving on to animation in the next video
