This Integral Quick Clip sheds light on the problem and solution to the social media censorship problem.
Fundamentally, Zuckerberg and other social media giants are starting their reasoning from an Orange-level orientation. This limits their ability to see alternatives and shapes their ability to understand possible solutions.
The reasoning given from Zuckerberg here, is self-consistently rational and logical. It also holds true if the environment these actions happen within is also an Orange-level one. However, the logic falls apart when considered in an environment that is not Orange. In the example, if the environment FB has was a Green-level infrastructure, than the perspective would open more greatly to include the autonomy of self-governing and user-defined ranking.
This is analogous to a cable TV provider deciding what TV programs get ranked to be placed more visibly for your watching. However, if we think about the cable provider as an infrastructure service (as society currently does), than they have no input on the ranking of the programs and the TV watchers are free to autonomously select for themselves what to watch.
In short, the reason internet censorship is still a problem is because Orange-level actors want systems they can control as opposed to letting go of the control and allowing individuals autonomy to rank for themselves.
The integral solution, as I see it, is to allow personal ranking in a holarchic fashion. This would allow users to rank what is most to least relevant in horizons or importance which fall in line with the stages of development.
