Now I own two Burns! One in DCF and one in Dyneema X, plus a bunch of other differences, as you'll see in the video. The DCF Burn is 450g/15.9oz, and the Dyneema X Burn is 395g/13.9oz in their current configurations.
First up, link to the discussion on the UL subreddit about dying my pack: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ultralight/c...
Here's a link to my full review of the 2017 Dyneema X Burn: • Mountain Laurel Designs (MLD) Dyneema Burn...
I misspoke in the video and said my older burn is 2016, my bad. It's the 2017 version. I also forgot to mention a few things in the video that I'd like to add here. The hip belt straps of the older burn have no padding at all, i.e. are just strips of Dyneema X fabric, which is another reason why the older one weighs less. I also plan on keeping the older pack for various reasons. I still love it and it's a great pack, for one. But for shorter trips where I will be doing more off trail bushwhacking, I will grab my older Burn. It will also be my son's pack for camping/scout trips. So both packs will get good use.
