Verreaux Black Eagles ~ Spotted Eagle Owl Hunting Rock Hyrax! Is This Sebwig? 8.11.23

Описание: Over at the Verreaux black eagle nest, the chick is on the nest as the last of the days light fades away. The cam pans over away from the nest (it gives us a great view of the distance too) and finds several rock hyrax together on the boulders. After several minutes, one hyrax suddenly takes off and hides under one of the rocks. He will pop his head out and then hide suddenly as a Spotted Eagle Owl comes swooping in to hunt for its supper. The rock hyrax was lucky on this pass and the eagle owl is found perched on the solar panel for the cam. In regular time and slo-mo!

It makes me wonder if this is Sebwig out hunting? If you recall, Sebwig was the chick of Mr and Mrs Wig who fledged successfully a few years ago. Enjoy some closeups of the owl before it flies off and continues its hunt for the evening. Makatsa is on the nest with her chick and they are watchful that there is an owl flying around the area.
