Sairam,
Gurudeva takes us to on a tour of "Datta Dhaama" Ashrama which is located 40kms away from Bangalore city. This ashrama is being run by Gurudeva under the banner of Shri Shirdi Sai Biksha Kendra (www.goshaala.sssbk.in).
He practically demonstrates the divinity of Gou (cow) that has been explained in the Gou-Samhita. He also educates us on how to perform Gou-Pooja and what are its benefits.
Cow is Pruthvi Devi or Bhoo devi. Lord Vishnu resides in its head, Lord Vishnu's head is near the neck, Lord Brahma (Brahma sthaana or the divine place of Brahma) resides in the hump (back) and Lord Vishnu's feet is in the cow's anus region.
The four legs represent the 4 veda. Front Right leg is Rigdeva, front left is Yajurveda, Back right leg is Samaveda and back left leg is Atharvanaveda. Cow takes the first step with Rigveda.
All Gods resides in the tail of the cow which is called Gou-Putccha in Sanskrit. By holding the tail and drinking the cow urine (Gou-mutra), Shastras (scriptures) mention that one gets cured by all diseases and also all doshas are removed.
Each hair strand of the cow represents Suktas - Narayana Sukta, Shree Sukta, Purusha Sukta etc. That is the reason, if one simply touches the cow, all sins are removed. By touching the cow dung (Gou-Maya) or by preparing cow dung cakes (berani or kula), one gets rid of curses from all Gods.
The four mammary glands of the cow udder signify Vasthakaara, Omkaara, Hum Phat Swaaha and Swaahakaara and the theertha (milk) coming out of the cow eliminates all sins of previous births.
In the head, the two horns represent Lord Sun (Soorya) and Lord Moon (Chandra). Hence whoever does Gou-Pooja will get rid of belows Shaapas curses:
1. Previous 10 births
2. Ancestors (Pitru devataa shaapa)
3. Brahmin (Brahmin shaapa)
4. Warrior (Kshatriya shaapa)
5. Merchant (Vyshya shaapa)
6. Slave (Shoodra shaapa)
All these divine benefits can be seen only in the Hindu Sanatana Dharma and nowhere else. In Skanda Purana, where there is a section called Gruhasthaashrama, its mentioned that if one takes birth as a human being, he should do Gou-Pooja and do service (seva) at-least for some days in his/her lifetime. By this, all the sins accumulated before marriage, sins during teenage, sins after marriage, professions life sins are eliminated in Skanda Purana. Sage Vyasa also did Gou-Pooja and attained Salvation it seems.
Lord Krishna used to grace the cows in forests and grass areas, touch them, feed them, do seva (Service) to them and was getting rid of His karmas in His earlier births of Matsya (Fish), Koorma (Tortoise), Varaha (Pig), Vamana (Dwarf), Narasimha (Lion), Rama (Lord Rama). Lord Shiva also has killed many demons and hence He has kept divine Cow (Nandi) in front of Him and always stares at Nandi's eyes so as to get rid of His sins.
Hence, one should do Gou-Pooja at-least once in 6 months, 3 months, a week if not daily so as to get rid of all sins from the day of taking birth till the day pooja is done. Gou-pooja is not complicated, one needs to do with devotion (Bhakti) and not pomp and glory. But Gou-Bhojana is very important even if one doesn't know mantras etc.
For Gou-Bhojana one needs to follow this:
1. Take Wheat floor
2. Mix Jaggery
3. Mix this with Ghee (don't use water)
All Pitrushaapa or gothra shaapa (sins) are removed. With Jaggery apamrutyu dosha (Accidental deaths) or durmana dosha are removed from horoscope. Ghee represents Lakshmi/Shukra graha) and gives health and wealth.
After pooja once needs to offer this mixture to the cows. This should be done at Gou-dhooli time (evening during sun set when cows come back from grazing). All this is mentioned in Gou-Samhita. For those who cannot give this food, one can give dry grass on his/her birthday (Tuesday etc) with his/her right hand which will remove sarpa dosha, rahu chandala dosha, removes impotency and improves sperms count and also increase memory power, clears debts. Green grass (Ketu graha) removed skin diseases and also one gets Salvation. It also removes skin diseases in all children as well as future generations. Tell all your problems to the Gou-maata, do sankalpa and perform Gou-Pooja.
One more naivedya (food) can be offered to cow apart from dry grass, green grass and the mixture.
1. Take rice - Chandra
2. Put green gram - Kuja, Budha
3. Yellu/Til/sesame seeds - Shani
4. Soak this for 20 minutes.
By offering this to cow's kid (calf), children who are stubborn, adamant, not studying well, lack of memory power will overcome such problems and also any black magic effects can also be overcome.
Gurudeva demonstrates the procedure of doing Gou-Pooja. He invites all to the Ashram for doing pooja. Also one can visit the above website and have a look at the the poojas and services available at the ashrama.
Thanks.. Sairam
