He became one of the top hurlers in a conference that is loaded with talent. "It's great. You play in front of amazing fans. The level of play is awesome. You gotta bring your best game every single game," he said. The Crimson Tide went (43-21) and reached the Super Regional before falling to top-ranked Wake Forest. Alabama was able to overcome adversity this spring. Brad Bohannon was fired as head coach in early May after a sports wagering investigation. The coaching change was a key factor in Holman's decision to enter the transfer portal. He told Paul Roberts of SV Sports that he expects to stay in the SEC and make an announcement by the end of July. Holman is considering LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Florida. He was selected for the USA Baseball collegiate national team this summer. The former Wilson star fired three scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a 17-1 victory against Chinese Taipei on July 3rd. Holman was even better in a 5-0 win over Japan on July 9th. He completed five shutout frames with ten punch outs and one walk. The time he spent in North Carolina was memorable. "It was a big deal. It's always nice wearing the USA on your jersey. It was awesome," said Holman.
