I got this lovely comment on the video I posted earlier today about letting a kid talk about how she planned to parent when she gets older. And when I first saw it I was like, I'm not kind I'm just ambivalent. What do I care what she says about how she's going to parent?
And then I had a fun little epiphany. If you stop caring what other people say and do you're like 92.5% of the way towards being the kindest person on earth. You have to care in a situation to put the effort in to be mean. So step one in being nice is not giving a shit. I can do that.
