തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ സഹായം തേടി ഒറ്റപ്പാലം മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ UDF നേതാക്കളെ സമീപിച്ചു. UDF നേതാക്കളുമായി നടത്തിയ ചർച്ചയ്ക്ക് പിന്നാലെയാണ് തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ സഹായം തേടി ശശി കോൺഗ്രസ് - മുസ്ലീം ലീഗ് നേതാക്കളെ സമീപിച്ചത്.

P. K. Sasi has decided to sever ties with the CPIM and contest in Ottapalam as a UDF-backed candidate. He will contest as the candidate of a party formed by a group of CPIM rebels with the support of the UDF. As part of seeking support for the election, Sasi approached UDF leaders in the Ottapalam constituency. Following discussions with UDF leaders, he also contacted leaders of the Congress and the Muslim League to seek their assistance in the election.
