This is one of many songs I first heard on Seattle's KJET - an AM station playing the finest in New Wave, Post-Modern, and any other label for "cool new music you couldn't hear anywhere else." Despite being an AM station, I listened constantly because the musical content outweighed the sound quality shortcomings. And this song from Wire is a prime example. Even "through the 2-inch speaker" as the station jokingly referred to itself, that intro with the 12 string electric guitar just rang through... One of the joys of the KJET era was when I'd get my hands on a copy of something I'd only heard there, and could finally hear it in true high fidelity stereo! Again, this song is a prime example. So many great memories come flooding in when I hear that intro, and then the rest of the song just keeps it coming!
