The BIG HEART Quilt uses 2 1/2 in STRIPS! 18th in our series to use leftover fabrics! 2 color ways!

Описание: Eighteenth video in our series of projects using 2 1/2 inch strips or Jelly Rolls to make scrappy quilts! This pattern is called "Big Heart!" It is a great way to use leftover cuts from strip sets using 2 1/2" strips! Use two different colors; one for the heart and one for the background for a cohesive look. Or use multiple colors for the heart on a light or dark background to create a wonderful scrappy quilt. You can certainly use jelly rolls and some yardage from your favorite fabric designer, there are so many ways to make this quilt your own!

Okay, I know I say this every time but this is one of my favorites so far! I see so many ways to use the quilt and can't wait to play around with the color values and try to do hearts within hearts. This is just a fun quilt that would be special for anyone you love. I will definitely be making this quilt top again in a different color combination.

I've challenged myself to do a new project each month using only 2 1/2 inch strips from my scrap buckets. I have always saved leftover strips from projects and cut up small leftover fabric from yardage into 2 1/2 inch strips and put them in a bucket for some "future" project . The future is now! It is time to tame the scrap bucket and use up these strips. I'll always have a scrap bucket of strips because I'm constantly adding to it Even though I'm down to one bucket, the videos will keep going because I can just start using jelly rolls when my bucket is empty. Let's be honest, it will probably never be completely empty! So join me on this project adventure to use up fabric scraps!

If you don't have leftover strips from other projects to make scrappy quilts, cut up fabrics in your stash into 2 1/2" strips to make the project. No stash of fabric? Head to your local quilt shop and buy a jelly roll or some very pretty fabric to cut into strips! Shop owners are more than happy to help you find the perfect fabric, don't be shy, ask for help if you need it!
