POV Chief engineer starting and stopping 1975 main engine and other machinery. Car ferry.

Описание: Starting and stopping an 8 cylinder Normo diesel Engine from 1975. 1120 HP.
Its a car ferry (Day RoPax) that is utilized when other ferries are at annual yard stays. So every so often we are lucky enough to put it in to normal operations for a few weeks at a time.

Starting and stopping fuel oil separator.
Engine room ventilation.
Crankshaft ventilation.
Testing standby aux generator function.
Checking forward gear when in operation.
Forward steering gear system checkup.
Oil check for sterntubes, regulator, turbo and aux systems.
Draining starting air and system air tanks.
Water level of main engine.
Blowing the cylinders prior to start.

The video is made up of several clips filmed over a week. Including taking the ferry out of lay up condition, and during daily operation where we do startup in the morning, and shutdown at night.
