Composed by Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown for the 1933 MGM musical “Stage Mother,” this was performed on-screen by Sam Ash and a chorus. “Beautiful Girl” was more famously included in the Bing Crosby film “Going Hollywood” later in 1933 (Bing’s Brunswick version here: • 1933 HITS ARCHIVE: Beautiful Girl - Bing C... ) as well as in the 1952 classic “Singin’ In The Rain.” Also from the show was “I’m Dancing On A Rainbow,” which is on the Bestor flip side: • 1933 Don Bestor - I'm Dancing On A Rainbow...
