In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Milena, show us how to create a volcano with ketchup. Using household items, such as ketchup, baking soda, and dish soap, we can recreate epic volcanic eruptions with a simple acid-base reaction. The bubbles generated in this reaction are often seen in baking, such as in rising cake and bread. For this experiment you’ll need a cup, tray/surface cover, ketchup, water, baking soda, and dish soap. You can skip ahead to 00:26 to jump straight to the experiment!
