Aghori Kila (Agori Fort) is a historic fort located in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, near the village of Gothani on the banks of the Son River. It is about 8-10 kilometers from Chopan and 25-35 kilometers from Robertsganj, situated on SH-5 Road. The fort was the residential palace of the Khayaravala (Khairwar) dynasty initially and later came under the control of the Chandela dynasty. The last known ruler from the Chandela dynasty here was Madan Shah.The fort is surrounded by three rivers—Son, Renu, and Bijula—and is strategically built with natural defenses, including deep trenches and river boundaries, making it well protected from attacks. It is also referred to as the Adivasi Kila tribal fort because its last rulers were tribal kings.Within the fort is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, making it a significant religious site, especially for the followers of Aghori Baba.

GuptKashi in Gothani, Chopan (Sonbhadra), is an ancient and revered religious site featuring the Baba Somnath Temple, which dates back to the 15th century. The temple was constructed under the rule of King Molagat from the Khayaravala (Khairwar) dynasty, who governed the region during that period. The temple holds a sacred Shiva lingam on which offering water is considered highly auspicious and beneficial, attracting devotees from far and wide.This site is rich in historical and archaeological significance, with excavations revealing numerous sculptures and inscriptions from as early as the 12th century, though many were damaged during Aurangzeb's rule. The area is also connected to local legends involving Veer Lorik and the Aghori Fort nearby, linking it deeply to the region’s cultural heritage.GuptKashi, also known as a "hidden Kashi," holds a major place in the hearts of devotees, particularly during the festival of Mahashivratri and the month of Shravan, when the influx of pilgrims is at its peak. The temple complex is located on the banks of the Son River near Gothani village, approximately 30-35 km from Robertsganj, making it accessible for visitors and tourists.
