This one is wild. We’re looking at a 1966 Marshall JTM 45/100 that has one of the craziest provenance clues we’ve ever seen. This amplifier is one serial number away from Jimi Hendrix’s known Marshall head — the one that went through auction.
When Dave bought this amp from us years ago, none of us realized that “BASS” was written behind the headcase. Why does that matter? Because Jim Marshall was known to build amps specifically for Jimi Hendrix and Noel Redding… and the “BASS” marking strongly suggests this unit may have been tagged for Noel.
Now, we can’t say it’s 100% verified — and we won’t claim that. But a 1966 45/100, marked BASS, sitting one serial number away from Hendrix’s amp?
