→ Here's GTA 4 vs GTA 3 side by side comparison. Watch it and see the differences and the improvements or downgrades these games have. I hope you like it!

Weapons: Everything the same, except the new improved sounds of the guns.

Graphics: There's not doubt that GTA IV has impressive graphics. A big improvement for the GTA series and the beginning of real life video games.

Fighting: We can all agreed that GTA IV has a better fighting mode. Looks more realistic and the different combo you hit, makes it better.

Swimming: Like graphics, GTA IV swimming was improved to make the game more realistic as possible.

Pedestrians: Since GTA III is an old game and not many things were added to it, there wasn't many reactions from the pedestrians as they only ran and screamed when threatened.

Police: We know that collecting the police stars will remove them, however, in GTA IV they are not available, instead the cheat. Still, removing the wanted levels with the police stars is legit than cheating in GTA IV with the codes. Talking about the police, in both game it seems that there are not differences when it comes to the police reinforcement. However, in GTA IV the police are more aggressive and will chase you down no matter what.

Car Crash: Looking at this part, in GTA III, it took only five hits to explode the car, which is bad since a car takes more damage in order to stop working. GTA IV got an improvement and was made more realistic as the cars will start to get a lot of damage before it explodes.

Car Diving/Mechanics/Physics: Once again, we can all agreed that GTA IV got an amazing improvement from GTA III. The mechanics and physics in GTA IV are amazing that when the game came out, I felt like I was driving a real car (of course not). Furthermore, physics in GTA IV are awesome as the cars will get different parts damage randomly. The mechanics in both games are really fun, although in GTA III is easier to control than in GTA IV since is less realistic.
