This one was an interesting one. I first heard of Facing Mount Kenya on a recommended list in a class. I really only read it because I felt it could help me to learn more about my culture. In the video I talk about why I thought the introduction by Malinowski (big anthropology guy) was also a message in its own right (the assumed superiority of white/western scholarship over that of experience). I also reflect on how the book affected how I perceived Jomo Kenyatta's legacy, as he was also Kenya's first president.
