সচিবালয়সহ গুরুত্বপূর্ন সরকারি স্থাপনার বেশিরভাগ ভবনই পুরনো। এসব ভবনের বৈদ্যুতিক সংযোগও দুর্বল। সচিবালয়ে আগুনের পর এসব ভবনের বৈদ্যুতিক ব্যবস্থা নিয়মিত মনিটরিং করতে কমিটি গঠন করেছে গণপূর্ত মন্ত্রনালয়। সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতে ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হচ্ছে বলেও জানিয়েছেন গণপূর্ত ও স্বরাষ্ট্র সচিব। অগ্নি নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে সচেতনতা সৃষ্টিতে ধারাবাহিকভাবে ভবনগুলোতে মহড়ার আয়োজন করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা।

After the fire in the Secretariat, the Ministry of Public Works formed a committee to regularly monitor the electrical systems of these buildings. The Public Works and Home Secretaries also said that measures are being taken to ensure overall safety. The Home Advisor said that drills will be organized continuously in the buildings to create awareness about fire safety.
