Sonam Kapoor is an Indian film actress and national film award winner, who works in Bollywood Films. She is one of the highest paid actresses in india.

Sonam was born to an actor and producer Anil Kapoor and model and designer Sunita. She has one younger sister Rhea kapoor, who is a film producer and younger brother Harshvardhan, who is also an actor. She has a great family background, she is the niece of film producer Boney Kapoor and actor Sanjay kapoor, actress Sridevi and producer Mona shourie are her aunts. Arjun kapoor and Mohit Marwah are paternal cousins and Ranveer Singh is maternal cousin.

Sonam made her debut in bollywood with Sanjay leela bhansali’s movie Saawariya, which earned her a Filmfare award for Best female Debut nomination. Before this movie sonam worked as a assistant director for Black movie.

After this movie, Sonam worked few films like Delhi-6, I hate Luv Storys, Aisha, Thank You, Mausam and Players in between 2009 and 2011.

In 2013, Sonam acted in a box-office hit movie Raanjhanaa, opposite Dhanush, which is marked as a turning point in her career. With her exceptional performance she got the first nomination for Filmfare award for Best Actress.

After Raanjhanaa, sonam acted in another bollywood’s blockbuster movie Bhaag Milkha bhaag, but in this movie she had a very little role.

After this she acted in Bewakoofiyaan movie, opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and Dolly ki Doli and Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which is directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya.

In 2016, Sonam acted in Ram madhvani’s biographical thriller Neerja, another blockbuster movie of bollywood. For this movie she won the Filmfare Critics award for Best Actress and National Film Award for Special mention.

In 2017, Sonam is acting in Veere Di Wedding, completed filming movie by R. balki’s Padman and Rajkumar Hirani’s Untitled Sanjay Dutt biopic.
