Because today we’re making Moong Dal Khasta Kachori,
super crispy on the outside and full of spicy dal filling on the inside.
Perfect for tea-time, guests, or weekend cravings!
Ingredients:
For Filling:
Moong dal (1 cup, soaked)
Fennel seeds
Coriander seeds
Green chilies
Ginger
Garlic
Oil
Black salt
Coriander powder
Red chili powder
For Dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
Ajwain (carom seeds)
Ghee
Water
Optional:
Fried green chilies
Chutney for serving
Instructions:
⭐ Step 1: Prepare the Dal Mixture
Soak moong dal and grind it into a fine paste.
Grind fennel, coriander, and green chilies separately.
Chop ginger and another green chili.
⭐ Step 2: Cook the Filling
Heat oil in a pan.
Add garlic, chopped chili, the ground spice mix, and sauté.
Add the moong dal paste.
Add black salt, coriander powder, and red chili powder.
Cook until thick and dry.
Let it cool completely.
⭐ Step 3: Make the Dough
Mix maida with ajwain and ghee.
Add water and knead into a soft dough.
⭐ Step 4: Shape the Kachoris
Make small balls from the dough.
Stuff each ball with the dal mixture.
Seal properly so the filling doesn’t come out.
⭐ Step 5: Fry to Perfection
Heat oil on medium-low flame.
Fry the kachoris slowly until crispy and golden.
You can also fry green chilies for extra taste.
