The National Museum of Bonsai is located within the Japanese Garden area of Showa Kinen Park, Tachikawa.

Bonsai is a traditional form of culture from ancient times that has been developed by peaceful Japanese who appreciate nature.
Referred to as “Living Art”, the cultivation process is endless and people can enjoy raising Bonsai trees throughout all their growth stages.

The museum which is all outdoors, boasts many different varieties of Bonsai trees which have been donated by Bonsai enthusiasts from all over Japan.

Visitors can discover how young Bonsai seedlings and cuttings grow into Bonsai trees in the learning area.
