Before I begin to describe the video itself, I want to tell you all that I found a new favourite Chloe vidder. Their videos really inspired me to make this. Especially this one: • Chloe Sullivan | Crawl ( Carry Me Through)
So please, check out their channel and subscribe. Really great stuff!
Okay, onto the video....
Chloe Sullivan has been through so much this last season. Watching it week to week I found myself very disappointed in the writers. But now, rewatching her season-long arc, I was really impressed. Yes, it wasn't Chloe's greatest year, or her most important, but it was a pivotal one. She was the only character who continued to fallout from the "Doomsday" fiasco until season's end, and it was a great watch.
At the start of the season, she comes to Clark and wants him to go back in time and save her husband, Henry (Jimmy). Declining, their friendship becomes strained. But, during episodes 3-6, they really begin to return to their amazing friendship state, and its not until Clark realizes in episode 7 "Kandor" that Chloe has been keeping cameras in his house that he begins to see her in a different light. Their friendship goes downhill from this point.
Without Clark to fall back on, as he has fallen back on her for the whole course of the series, Chloe buries herself into Watchtower, working as a hero. It takes Oliver, a hero like her, to break down her walls and open her back up to the world -- whereas before she was closed, boxed in Watchtower.
By season's end, her friendship between Clark is slowly repairing, and her relationship (finally!) with Oliver is growing. But where will it all go in season 10? How will Chloe's story wrap up? We'll have to find out next season.
Overall, I really enjoyed Chloe's arc this season. The writers spent so much time pushing her further and further into the darkness, that a lot of fans were beginning to think she'd go evil by series' end. Or that she'd be offed. But it was more about the emotional state she was stuck in after her personal Doomsday, and all the trust issues, and faults she formed from it.
And if you think Chloe's been through a lot, this season would be her darkest point in her life. Its really gripping storytelling. Honestly I hated the season when watching it week to week, because of how much I thought the writers were crapping on my favourite character, but in the end, it was a good story. And its not the last we'll hear of Chloe, so its all good :)
Enjoy!
Feedback much appreciated :)
