Nancy Gathungu has today taken over office as Kenya’s Auditor General for the next eight years
She took over from Edward Ouko whose term ended last year.
Speaking during the handover ceremony held in Nairobi, Gathungu has promised to maintain the independence of the Auditor General’s office while prioritising the backlog that faces the institution.
She also praised the former Auditor General Edward Ouko, saying he had raised standards of audit
