"I thought the film was very illuminating in that it was so banal. It was so, you know, it kind of just showed that she sees this job as one sort of fashion show. It was very focused on, you know, her looks, her dresses, less on what her 'be best' initiative is. She barley said anything about that, only that it exists."

'It is Slovenian pride that she is there and she reached (that position), but I don't know how much she cares about Slovenia. She doesn't come any more, maybe she came two times. She doesn't care about Slovenia any more. Now she has her family there."

STORYLINE:
A documentary about U.S. first lady Melania Trump premiered at a movie theater in her native Slovenia on Friday.
Melania Trump is capping her first year back as first lady with the global release of a documentary she produced about the 20 days leading up to husband Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
“Melania” premiered Thursday at the Kennedy Center before it was released on Friday in more than 1,500 theaters in the U.S. and around the world, including her native Slovenia.
"I thought the film was very illuminating, it was so banal," said Adam Heffez, a visitor from New York City watching the premier in the Slovenian capital on Friday.
"It kind of just shows that she sees that job as one sort of fashion show," he added.
A private person, Melania Trump remains a bit of a mystery to the public in her husband’s second term.
Jozica Fisher, a Ljubljana resident, said she felt pride that a native Slovenian had reached the position of American first lady.
"But I don't know how much she cares about Slovenia," she added.
The documentary was produced by AmazonMGM Studios and is said to have cost $40 million.
It will stream exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service after its theatrical run.
