How to fix P008A Code: Low Pressure Fuel System Pressure – Too Low
A P008A Code is set when the computer (PCM/ECM) detects the fuel pressure is too low. Low Fuel level may cause this code to set.
When the engine control module (PCM) detects the fuel pressure is too low, the PCM will set code P008A. Low Fuel level may cause this code to set.
Many newer vehicles have two fuel pumps: an LPFP (Low Pressure Fuel Pump) in the gas tank and an HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) on the engine.
It is always best to get a diagram or schematics for the vehicle since there are differences in wire color, component location, and how many sensors there are.
Possible Causes of a P008A Code:
Bad Fuel Pressure Sensor
Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator - Fuel Volume Control Valve - Demand Control Valve
Wiring Issue Open - Short Blown Fuse - Bad Relay
Clogged Fuel Filter
Bad Fuel Pump (HPFP - LPFP)
Bad Computer (PCM/FPCM)
