I insisted on going this one, and we recommend it!
If you decide to go up from Montenegro side, near Rožaje(a nice, fridenly town where we liked the cafes and food) in spring time you can drive untill Bandžov. From there the approach is direct and not too much forest.
Can ski down to Kosovo and back. We skied the West shoulder down.
The mountain hut is often open also in winter.
