I spent 15 hours surviving solo on the Deer Isle map in DayZ, pushing further north than I ever have before. What started as a simple survival run turned into one of the most intense adventures I've had in the game.
Along the way I ran into multiple players, fought my way through some brutal encounters, and managed to take down two survivors early in the journey. After hours of traveling, looting, and staying alive, I finally made it all the way to the Northern Military Island, one of the most dangerous places on the map.
That’s where things escalated.
I ran into a fully geared player, and somehow managed to win the fight. With some of the best gear I’ve ever had on Deer Isle, I thought the adventure was just getting started.
But DayZ always has other plans.
Trying to escape by boat in the freezing northern waters, the cold started setting in… and the run ended in the most brutal way possible.
This was easily one of my longest and most intense solo adventures on Deer Isle.
