ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam
urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya mā’mṛtāt
Rigveda 7.59.12
The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is one of the most ancient and powerful healing mantras from the Vedas. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva — the Three-Eyed One (Tryambaka) — who liberates beings from fear, suffering, and the cycle of death.
This mantra invokes healing, protection, inner strength, and spiritual awakening, guiding the practitioner from mortality toward immortality (Amrita — the nectar of consciousness).
It prevents premature death, promotes longevity and has the ability to cure all diseases. This is why it is called 'Mahamrityunjaya', the conquest of death.
