Is Africa ready for global content demand? Joburg Film Festival JBX | MobbJustice On Tech (Ep 114)

Описание: In February 2024, I had the opportunity to lead the discussion around "Is Africa ready for global content demand?" at the recently concluded Joburg Film Festival.

The goal was to assess where we are as a continent; what the world sees of the continent; and what the world wants versus what Africa is delivering.

It's one thing to talk about technologies like streaming or broadcast but something needs to be said about the actual content that fills these platforms.

This was the opening panel of the JBX portion of the festival. JBX Content Market brings together producers, financiers, broadcasters, streaming platforms and other industry professionals to delve into the business side of film and content production.

The panel featured incredible industry experts: Laurent Sicouri from Canal+, Mayenzeke Baza from AAA Entertainment, and Julian Govender from the SABC.
