Father's heartfelt letter prompts US attorney to reexamine Spanish Fork cold case

Описание: For nearly a decade, the disappearance of 15-year-old Kiplyn Davis in Spanish Fork felt like a dead end. Then, a single letter landed on the desk of U.S. Attorney Paul Warner in 2003 and changed the course of the case.

“At age 15, she had disappeared in Spanish Fork in 1995,” Warner recalled, describing how Kiplyn’s father, Richard Davis, had written him directly. The letter came just as national attention swirled around the safe recovery of Elizabeth Smart. Davis asked why so many resources were used to find Smart, but nothing close had been done to find his daughter.

“I don't understand how or why so much resource was dedicated, federal, state, local, to investigating and finding her, and none of that was dedicated toward finding my daughter,” the letter read.
