Tim is a husband, father, and devoted Christian who works in IT as an analyst. He was born prematurely and spent a significant portion of his early life in hospital — nearly 18 months of his first two years. Being separated from his mother for so long left him with a deep-seated sense of abandonment. While this was entirely out of her control, the emotional impact lingered.
In his mid-twenties, Tim discovered that he had been conceived as a result of rape. This revelation added another layer of shame and deeply affected his sense of worth. For a long time, he felt profoundly worthless.
About nine months after the death of his first wife, he read Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. The book challenged his identity and how he viewed myself. That was the turning point — when he began he began to himself differently and gave himself permission to love who he was.
