Moms will often come to me, saying that their milk supply has just, suddenly dropped. Most of the time their supply has not dropped at all. There are definitely some things that can make you believe that your milk supply has dropped. In this video, I explain some of the signs that you may be seeing that look like a low milk supply but really aren’t.
We want to be sure that baby is getting all that they need. We can know baby is getting enough if we always see baby having six or more wet diapers every 24 hours, baby is happy (most of the time🥰) and growing well.
If you feel like your supply has dropped, reach out to me or your local lactation counselor as soon as possible to ask questions and get some support. ❤️

Mary's Favorite Things!
Breast Pumps: There are many great pumps out there, but the Spectra 2 Plus is my all-around favorite. Many insurance companies will give you a pump. If the spectra is on the list, ask for it!

If you don’t plan on being away from baby very often, the Medela manual pump is great! Less parts to clean and easy to use. I also have a video on using the Medela manual pump.

I used boob shell, milk collectors when I was breastfeeding. I think they are an amazing asset in the first few weeks when you might be leaking milk. You can collect the milk and actually store it instead of letting it be wasted. They also add some air circulation and help with Some tenderness that might have happened in the first few weeks.
I recommend having two so that you always have one clean and ready to go.
I love these so much that I often give them for baby shower gifts.

Wearing your baby in a wrap actually helps to maintain milk supply and comforts baby.

If you’re not comfortable with a wrap style baby carrier, a front carrier would work well too.
