Описание: The Borde-Guth-Vilenkin Theorem shows that no matter what kind of scientific model someone proposes for the universe (like a multiverse, oscillating model, inflationary models, etc.), the universe STILL has an absolute beginning. Thus the universe is not infinite in the past or eternal. This proves the Kalam Cosmological Argument's second premise that the universe has a beginning. Some atheists have tried to suggest that Alexander Vilenkin (and by extension the BVG Theorem) never argued that the universe had a beginning. However, William Lane Craig shows how many atheists take Vilenkin out of context. Moreover, Vilenkin himself gave a speech at Stephen Hawking's birthday where he claimed that all the evidence we have shows the universe had an ultimate beginning.
