HAPIDA SKYNeX, a single-seater electric flying vehicle prototype developed by Uttarakhand innovator Ravi Tamta, has successfully completed a test flight in Almora, Uttarakhand.
The personal flying vehicle uses modified drone technology and is designed as a potential solution for transportation in difficult hilly terrain. Reports say a conventional 40-km road journey that can take around 90 minutes could potentially be reduced significantly if this technology is developed further.
But there’s an important catch — HAPIDA SKYNeX is still a prototype, not a commercially available flying car. It would need extensive further testing, safety validation, certification and regulatory approval before becoming an everyday mode of transportation.
