In a recent interview on Australian television, President Marcos, when asked about his family's ill-gotten wealth, claimed that they were left with nothing after their family left the Philippines. Records show they brought valuable items worth millions of pesos when they fled to Hawaii.
Even though those were later confiscated by US Customs, news reports in succeeding years said they lived an extravagant lifestyle in the island-state.
