Nibble Nation is a plant-based cooking segment presented by the Black Child Development Institute – Greater Los Angeles, hosted and founded by Chef Kimberly Knight.

This episode, “From the Ground Up,” celebrates February as a time to honor Black Love and Black History, recognizing the rich traditions and cultural resilience that have nourished Black families for generations. By connecting vegetables to heritage, land, and legacy, this segment encourages families to see cooking as both an act of love and a continuation of cultural pride. BCDI- Greater Los Angeles continues to highlight the “Enjoys Meals with Vegetables” outcome from the National Black Child Development Institute's Eight Essential Outcomes framework, supporting Black children and families in building lifelong habits of wellness, creativity, and joy around food.

Through her warm, engaging teaching style, Chef Kimberly invites families into the kitchen with confidence—making vegetables approachable, nourishing, and meaningful. Her approach centers connection, creativity, and practical tools that empower caregivers to turn everyday meals into moments of learning, pride, and togetherness.
