In 2004, John McGuinness went on to take wins in the Junior TT and Lightweight 400cc races, three in a week, to join TT greats, Mike Hailwood, Joey Dunlop, Steve Hislop and David Jefferies in the elite hat-trick club. McGuinness never faltered and notched up his second successive 400cc race win, adding to his Formula One victory two days earlier. Despite an unzipped boot, he maintained concentration to win by 33.2 seconds at a record race average speed of 110.28mph.
