In this talk, Jacqueline will talk about the different zones of stress and how they impact the brain and body. Next to that, she will discuss how a feeling of safety can get us in a powerful zone and how a small trigger can, very easily, get us in a zone of stress. This TED talk teaches us how to become aware of these zones and how to proactively navigate them. The different zones of stress discussed by Jacqui are: 1. Comfort zone 2. Protection zone 3. Terror zone 4. Learning zone 5. Recovery zone.
Dr. Jacqui Brassey is an international ‘pracademic’ and loves to build bridges between practice and science. She is a Global Director of L&D and Global Learning Leadership Team member at McKinsey & Company. Furthermore she is Adjunct Professor at IE University in Madrid and visiting research fellow at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Her current research focuses on Affective Neuroscience in Organizations and Leadership. Additionally she is a proud Supervisory Board Member of Save the Children NL.
She is a (co)-author of over 20 book-/chapters, articles and papers, most notably her latest book: Advancing Authentic Confidence through Emotional Flexibility.
