Kaaphal Hill is a self-sustained farmstay, in a village called Chaukori in the Kumaon Himalayas of Uttarakhand. I lived here during my trip to Kumaon to explore Kumaoni culture and rustic way of life. The resident family had had tamed Kaleej Peasants, one of the most sought after birds in the Himalayas. I spent 20 minutes up, close and personal with them.
