Khandapada NAC is one of the oldest towns of the undivided Puri and now Nayagarh district. Known as one of the richest princely states, the place is home to a number of ancient temples built and nurtured under the rulers of Khandapada.

The 400 years old Jagannath temple is situated adjacent to the Khandapada palace. It is enriched with some wonderful art and the idol of Lord Jagannath is believed to be more than 300 years old and brought from Puri.

The premises of Jagannath temple comprises of five other temples such as; Shiva temple, Gopinath temple, Radhakrushna temple and Raghunath temple. All the temples are built during the pre independence period and by the rulers of Khandapada.

Reaching Khandapada is way too easy and directly accessible from Bhubaneswar and the district HQ Nayagarh. It is around 90 kms from Bhubaneswar via Khordha, Baghamari, Kalapathar and Bhapur. And around 18 kms from Nayagarh via Jogiapalli.
