Pakistan, EU Strengthen Security Ties During High-Level Political Dialogue in Brussels

Описание: Pakistan and the European Union have agreed to deepen cooperation in security, counter-terrorism, and migration management during the 10th Political Dialogue held in Brussels on Thursday. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) signed in 2019, aiming to expand collaboration across political, economic, and multilateral domains.

The meeting, led by Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and EU Deputy Secretary General Olof Skoog, also addressed key regional and global issues including the situations in Ukraine, Gaza, and Indian-occupied Kashmir. Both sides stressed the importance of diplomacy, respect for international law, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

In addition to security cooperation, the EU and Pakistan agreed to continue engagement under the GSP+ framework, supporting Pakistan’s access to EU markets. Migration and mobility were also in focus, with plans for a third Comprehensive Dialogue later in 2025.

The dialogue signals growing EU recognition of Pakistan’s strategic role and echoes recent praise from the United States, including statements by President Donald Trump and CENTCOM Chief Gen.
