Small but Mighty: Pacific Pilot II Lift at Point Hope Maritime Shipyard

Описание: Join me inside Point Hope Maritime Shipyard in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, for a documentary style look at the lift of Pacific Pilot II. Though modest in size, this 61-foot pilot boat is raised using the same powerful cradle, cart, turntable and spur line system that handles much larger vessels. We begin with the final cart preparations before the cradle descends into the harbour, then follow the full process as the vessel is lifted from the water, transferred to the turntable, rotated, and carefully moved into dry berth. Filmed from inside the shipyard, this video offers a clear, up-close view of the precision, coordination and engineering behind another successful haul out at Point Hope.
