Easy camp stove

Описание: This video demonstrates another fire-making technique called the Swedish Fire Log, a Swedish Torch or Canadian Candle. This method dates back to the 1600s, used by soldiers during the Thirty Years' War to create efficient, self-contained fires in forests where the ground was too wet or snowy to kindle a fire traditionally. The technique's beauty lies in its simplicity and effectiveness, making it a staple among outdoor enthusiasts, primitive campers, bushcrafters, and survivalists.
I Cut an 8-inch tall and 5-inch diameter old oak round for the Swedish Fire Log. I split the log into quarters and made a 1-inch cut inside before batoning the edges out, creating a central cavity crucial for airflow and combustion. The small twig is inserted to maintain an air gap and bound together with trapping wire.
Lighting the stove with fatwood, a resin-rich kindling, initiated a concentrated burn within the log's core. The placement of two sticks across the top creates an air gap between the log and pot, allowing for maintaining a consistent burn. This setup not only concentrates the heat upwards but also maximizes the efficiency of the wood, turning it into a compact stove.
As the fire took hold within the log's hollow, the heat rose, efficiently boiling water in the pot above.
