Nafakhum Waterfall, often called the "Niagara Falls of Bangladesh," is a large and stunning waterfall located in the deep forests of the Bandarban district's Thanchi Upazila. The waterfall is known for its adventurous journey and breathtaking natural beauty.
The name "Nafakhum" comes from the local Marma language, where "Nafa" refers to a type of flying fish (or sometimes bamboo, depending on the origin story) and "Khum" means waterfall or cave. The falls are approximately 25 to 30 feet high, where the wild hilly Remakri River suddenly cascades down a rocky cliff.
