Calne, St Mary's - The new ring of 10...

Описание: Well... What can I say about these?!

Here is a timeline of the project from taking the bells out, to putting them back in, of course, backed with call changes on the 10.

This is one of the first rings on the full 10 besides from the testing period - So naturally not everything is going to be perfect!

The acoustics are a work in progress - The tower is still a designated work site, so not all of the fixtures have been put in place, hence why you may not hear some bells and the tenor making a strange noise... That is the project for this upcoming week and hopefully, next Friday, they should sound even better!

Its like a whole new ring has been put in - The character of the back 8 is still there. The strange thonking quirks of the old 7th (9th) are still there at handstroke, but they handle sublimely well! The tower does wobble still - There will be no fixing it no matter how far you move the bells down but, it certainly does not affect the bells like it used to!

As I said, the bells are still being fine tuned as are the acoustics - It was hard to hear your own bell when I rang as there were no soft furnishings to absorb the echo and the tenor's set is basically balancing on the balance point, hence my miserable attempt at standing it!

But my days, the tenor sang before, but now, wow! It sings for years with the wooden shafted clapper!
