Osmanthus Flowers Blooming Everywhere in August is a revolutionary song widely known in China. It has passed on till today and has influenced generations of Chinese people, but it remains unclear who the composer was. In 1959, a composer Li Huanzhi and a lyricist Huo Xiyang adapted this folk song into a chorus. In 1964, it was presented as a women's chorus in Act Two: A Spark Can Start A Prairie Fire of the epic music and dance performance The East Is Red. Since then, the song has been mostly performed as a chorus music.
